Days Itinerary

Arrive in Kochi to a warm welcome by our Ameera Holidays tour representative who takes you to the waiting coach for the 145 km drive to Munnar. It takes all of 4 hours to cover the distance across some incredibly fascinating scenery as you cross streams, comes across waterfalls, lakes and lush plantations lining the road. Check into your hotel room and freshen up. You can set out on your own to explore the beauties of Munnar as the sun sets over the hills in a golden blaze of light.

Feast on a Kerala breakfast spread and set out to explore this jewel of Kerala hill stations. The town itself is located at a height of 1600 meters at the confluence of three streams around which sprawl lush green tea plantations with the Anamudi peak in the distance. A trip to the Eravikulam National Park brings you face to face with the Nilgiri Tahr, hundreds of birds splitting the air with their cacophony and myriad butterflies flitting about joyfully. The Anamudi Peak is located inside this park. Then you move on to a couple of tea plantations to view how tea leaves are plucked and processed, enjoy a cup and buy a pack. After that, we take a walk to Echo Point followed by a visit to the Mattupetty Lake and Dam, located 13 km away, a charming picnic point. Visit the Top Station, 32 km away and at a height of 1700 meters, is simply unforgettable for the scenic view it offers. Later, we visit Rajmalai and Kundale Lake for some boating on the tranquil waters. It is evening and time to return to your room for well-deserved rest.

Breakfast done with you board a coach for the 110 km drive to Thekkady that proves to be enchantingly fascinating. After 3 hours you arrive at the game reserve and check into your hotel to freshen up. Then we set out on an exploration of the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. You get to admire a few of the thousands of flowering orchids, elephants, tiger, bison, deer, dogs and leopards as also colorful birds, reptiles and amphibians alongside the Periyar Lake. Photographers love this place for its ecological diversity and scenic splendors. Tired but satisfied you return to your hotel for the overnight stay.

Set out for Alleppey after a hearty breakfast and admire the scenery, mainly made up of lush tropical vegetation, green rice fields and waterways as you arrive at the Venice of the East. The waterways are crowded with houseboats much like the Dal in Srinagar but with a world of difference and an ambiance typically Malayali in style. On arrival, you board a houseboat for your cruise on the backwaters to live life the way people do like the boat cruises along. There is plenty to do and observe as the houseboat glides along. You enjoy a lovely lunch and a hearty dinner after which you stay overnight on the boat.

Wake up to the noise of people coming alive and going about their activities, enjoy a typical Kerala breakfast and relax for a while. Once the boat docks at the jetty at Alleppey you can explore the Marari Beach and spend an hour or so. Later in the afternoon, you leave for Kochi as the fascinating Kerala tour ends here.
