Days Itinerary
You will be picked up by the Ameera Holidays representative from the nearest railway station/ airport and driven to Bhopal where you will be checked into a hotel. After breakfast and freshening up you will drive further to Sanchi which is 46km away from Bhopal (eastwards). Sanchi is a prime pilgrimage site for Buddhists where Ashoka the Great built a column and a Stupa in the 3rd century. It was enlarged by other rulers later on and once Buddhism declined in India the place was nothing but ruins. In the 20th century the Stupas were reconstructed and today a park plus museum stands here, being counted as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Your next stop will be 18km from Sanchi and Udaygiri where you can visit the famous ‘rock cut’ caves constructed under the reign of the Guptas during the ‘Golden Age’. Post lunch you can get back to Bhopal to visit the ‘Government Archaeological Museum’, the ‘Van Vihar’, the ‘Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya’. On the way back to the hotel you can photo-shoot at the VIP road, the ‘Gohar Mahal’ and the ‘Birla Mandir’ (Laxmi Narayan). Stay overnight at the Bhopal hotel.
On day 2 post breakfast you will leave for Bhojpur which is 28km journey covered in an hour. The famous ‘Shiv Mandir’ here is said to possess the biggest ‘Shivling’ in the entire globe. From here you will move onto Bhimbetka, 35km away. This place is surrounded by the Vindhyas and is known as the ‘Bhima’s Lounge’ (who was one of the five Pandavas in the Mahabharata epic). The gigantic rock-formations of this pre-historic site are supposed to have provided shelter to the ‘ancient tribes’ of this region. The shelters are found to be adorned with pictographic writings showing the times and life of the pre-historic dwellers of these caves. Next you will drive to Pachmarhi to view more of these pre-historic caves which are treasured as archaeological elements. Check into the hotel at Pachmarhi after a 4-hour drive. Stay the night in this hotel.
On this day after a late breakfast you can leisurely get ready for local tourist spots including the ‘Pandav Caves’, the ‘Mahadev’, the parks and churches, the ‘Chauragarh’ and the ‘Handi Kho’. Get back to your hotel in Pachmarhi for a sumptuous dinner followed by night stay.
On this day you will leave for the ‘Be Fall’ in Dhoopgarh with a towel and an extra pair of clothes. On the way you can stop at some of the places for viewing the amazing landscape. You will also cover Jatashankar on way and after a splendid time in the ‘Bee Fall’ you will get back to Pachmarhi to spend the night.
