The Ameera Holidays representative will welcome you at the Port Blair airport (Veer Savarkar) and take you safely to the pre-booked hotel for check-in. Rest for some time in the hotel after which you will go for sightseeing to the places cited below.
Samudrika Museum: This place is under the supervision of the Indian Navy. The various sections in it dedicated to Marine Life, Geographical information, the local people and archaeology. It also has an impressive colorful fish, shells and corals collection.
Anthropological Museum: This place was built between1975-76 and depicts the Negrito tribes of Andaman that include the Sentinels, the Jarawas, the Onges and the Great Andamanese along with the Mongoloid Nicobar tribes including the Shompens and the Nicobarese. This place describes the development of the people by stage and their present lifestyle. The display includes tools, handicrafts, weapons, photographs and other ‘art and crafts’.
Fisheries Museum: This place houses over 350 marine life species. These are all placed on display and belong mostly to the Indo- Pacific Ocean and the Bay of Bengal. It is located just next to the ‘Rajiv Gandhi Water Sports Complex’ in Port Blair.
Cellular Jail: This jail has a historical significance with its construction in the 19th century in the shape of a wheel that has 7 spokes. However, only 3 out of the 7 wings exist today.
Sound & Light Show: You can opt for a ‘Sound and Light Show’ at the ‘National Memorial Cellular Jail’ in which the freedom struggle movement of India is depicted using sound and light. The show is presented in both Hindi and English.
