Tour Overview
The name Pachmarhi is said to have originated from the Hindi words Panch (“five”) and Marhi (“caves”). Tradition holds that during their thirteen years of exile, the five Pandava brothers of the Mahabharatha era built these caverns. The lofty position of the caverns makes them an excellent vantage point. One of the most famous tourist attractions in India is the isolated hill village of Pachmarhi, which is entirely covered in stunning flora. Pachmarhi does add a new flavour to this Central Indian curry, and the state is widely recognised for its rich heritage, historical sites, and lush forest. The Pachmarhi 3 days / 2 nights tour will take you on a short yet exciting journey.
Days Itinerary
On day 2 post breakfast you will drive to the various tourist spots in Pachmarhi all through the day. Your day will start with ‘Jata Shankar’ visit which is a ‘sacred cave’ situated under lose boulders displaying nature’s unique architecture. Move on to ‘Christ Church’ which crucially reminds of the colonial rule here. The architecture of the church reminds you of the European style of architecture especially with the altar and walls brought from that region. You can take a break and get back to your hotel to take lunch. Post lunch you will be taken to other sites of tourist attraction in Pachmarhi. Go to the Bee Falls to get closer to nature and then move on to the ‘Vaniki Sangrahalya’ (Bison Lodge) followed by the ‘Bal Udayan (Children’s park). To get a scenic view of the sunset visit the ‘Noka Vihar’ and take a boat ride in the Pachmarhi Lake here. Proceed to Dhoopgarh which is the ‘highest peak’ in the Pachmarhi region. Return to your hotel for night stay.
