Days Itinerary

Once you arrive at Guwahati Airport or Railway station, you will be welcomed and assisted to your pre-booked hotel by one of our representatives. Once you are settled, get ready to explore the key attractions of Guwahati.

The first stop will be Kalakshetra where you will have an opportunity to get familiar with Assamese culture, traditions and history at this cultural center where the essence of Assam is depicted in a beautiful way.

The next stop will be Fancy Bazaar and Handicraft market where you can take a stroll through the Bazaar and explore local handicrafts, vibrant fabrics and traditional items from these popular Assam markets.

After exploring the markets, return to your hotel for an overnight stay in Guwahati.

Begin your day early as the whole day is packed with exploration and sightseeing.

The first stop will be the sacred Kamakhya temple situated on Nilachal Hill, known as one of the 51 Shakti Peethas. It is recommended to obtain a VIP pass (₹501 per person) from the temple counter to avoid long queues.

You can also visit and offer prayers to the following temples lies close to Kamakhya Temple at Nilachal Hill:

Dhumavati Temple, Tripureswari Temple, Maa Tara Temple, Maa Kali Temple, Maa Chhinnamasta Temple, Maa Bagala Temple, Maa Bhubaneswari Temple and Maa Banadurga Temple.

Note:

  • In order to offer a special ritual or puja at Kamakhya temple, inform us a day prior so that we can make the necessary arrangements.
  • Every year during the period of Ambubachi, the Kamakhya temple remains closed i.e from 22 June – 25 June.
  • When the temple reopens, a big ceremony named Ambubachi Mela is held. The Mela goes on for a week making the temple premises and local streets extremely crowded. Therefore, plan your trip accordingly.
  • Ambubachi Mela dates: 26 June – 03 July.
