Odisha, which is bordered by the Bay of Bengal on the east, is a lesser-known beach destination that should no longer be kept a secret. Odisha, home to a plethora of Hindu temples and, surprisingly, Buddhist shrines, is a tourism destination that transports you to Ashoka the Great’s glorious time. This 6 days / 5 nights tour would be covering all the best spots planned.
Days Itinerary
Welcome to Bhubaneswar, You are greeted on arrival at Bhubaneswar airport/railway station by Ameera Holidays representative and transfer to hotel. Later if time permit half day sightseeing of famous city temples including Raja Rani, Parsurameswar, Mukteshwar (Gem of Orissa architecture), & Lingaraj (it is the biggest temple in Bhubaneswar). Overnight at Bhubaneswar.
Morning visit to Khandagiri & Udayagiri Jain Caves (oldest rock cut Caves, the caves are reminiscent of the influence of Buddhism and Jainism in Orissa). Then drive to Puri en route visit Dhauli (Buddhist Stupa/ peace pagoda), Pipli (the appliqué work village). And visit the Sun temple (one of the world famous heritage site & famously known as Black Pagoda). Enroute visit to Ramachandi Temple & Chandrabhaga beach (one of the finest beaches with a long stretch of clean sands & the beach has its own lovely serenity). Return back to Puri. Relax on the golden beach of Puri. Overnight at Puri.
Morning drive to Chilika lake at Barkul (the largest Ramsar site of Asia and famous for its migratory birds coming from distance places). Take the boat cruise to visit the temple island, birds island at Nalabana. Relax at the Lakeside cottage. Overnight at Chilika.
The morning after breakfast drive to Tapta Pani en route visit Taratarini temple (the legendary temple on the hillock). Also, visit Silk city Berhampur to find the SILK Saree on your own choice. Later proceed to Taptapani. Overnight at the Hill Resort.
Morning has a Sulphur bath at Taptapani then post breakfast you can visit Tibetan settlement at Chandragiri to explore the new world Amidst of natural forest.
Chandragiri with rare scenic beauty, which presents a picturesque landscape, is a paradise for all nature lovers. Surrounded by luxuriant tropical forest, gurgling rivers, exquisite mountain slopes and roaring hilltops this exotic place of Orissa is widely known for the Tibetan refugee colony, where immigrants from Tibet have been rehabilitated. Bestowed with bounties of nature, this place is famous for seasonal fruits, Tibetan woolen garments, carpets and dogs of various breeds. The large-scale horticulture plantations, as well as the cultural activities of the Tibetan refugees, make this place more colorful and attractive. This hillside settlement of Tibetans, which is also an ideal health resort, attracts both domestic and foreign tourists from far and wide for its pleasant ambience. Tibetan spiritual leader and by His Holiness Dalai Lama to inaugurate Buddhist monastery at Chandragiri in Orissa’s on 12 Jan 2010.
Visit the Padmasambhava and University. Have lunch over there and later drive back to Gopalpur on Sea.
Today a Bid farewell of Exotic Odisha tour, after breakfast transfer to Airport/ Railway Station for the onward journey.
