Upon arriving at Ahmadabad railway station, our tour representative will greet you and take you to your pre-booked hotel. Check-in, take your time to get freshen up and then we will start our day 1 sightseeing which includes Sabarmati Ashram, Kankaria Lake, Calico Museum of Textile, Jama Masjid, Vastrapur Lake, Teen Darwaza, Nehru Bridge and Ellis Bridge. First of all, we visit the famous Sabarmati Ashram. This ashram had been the residential home of Mahatma Gandhi until the year 1930. You can see the various items used by the ‘father of nation’ in his lifetime well preserved in a museum that the ashram houses. Next, we visit the Kankaria Lake; the biggest among the other lakes in the city. Sultan Qutbuddin had built this circular lake around the 15th century and it used to be the bathing zone for the Royals in the past eras. Today the lake is a happening picnic spot in the city.

The lakeside comes with broad illuminated walking tracks and numerous food joints. After Kankaria Lake, we proceed to visit the Calico Museum of Textiles. This unique textile museum is one of its kinds in the whole of the country. The museum came into being in the year 1949 and was set up with the aim of upholding the country’s outstanding textile heritage. A vast collection of very old as well as rare Indian textiles is aptly showcased in this unique museum. Post museum visit we proceed to visit the Jama Masjid; Ahmadabad’s most sacred mosque. This mosque with 260 pillars and 15 domes came into being in the year 1423 AD under the initiative of Sultan Ahmad Shah whose mausoleum is situated in vicinity to the mosque’s eastern gateway. After Jama Masjid, we visit the Vastrapur Lake. This urban lake located in the city’s western part.

It is also differently called the Bhakt Kavi Narsinh Mehta Sarovar. The lakeside has become a relaxing picnic spot for the locals. It comes with broad jogger’s pathways, beautiful gardens, marvelous stonework, kid’s park as well as an open theatre. Next, we visit Teen Darwaza. This historical gateway with triple arches has been a witness to many significant historical events and lies eastward of the famed Bhadra Fort. Next we visit the Nehru Bridge. This modern bridge named after Jawaharlal Nehru Ji is an important bridge of Ahmedabad built across River Sabarmati. It serves as a lifeline for the city’s major transports. Lastly, for the day we visit the Ellis Bridge, an important landmark of the city and a bridge dating back to a century. The bridge runs over River Sabarmati and connects eastern Ahmadabad and western Ahmadabad. The bride came into being in the year 1892. After finishing off with the day’s sightseeing, it’s a time to energize yourself with a delicious dinner and then spend your overnight.

The last day of your Ahmedabad sightseeing trip will start with a healthy breakfast and then we will check-out from hotel. The leftover destinations of Ahmedabad sightseeing will be covered today, the Rani no Hajiro. It is a historic location amid the crowded Manek Chowk in the city of Ahmadabad. Rani no Hajiro is actually a mausoleum with several tombs of the various female members of the royal family of Sultan Ahmad Shah; the founder of the city of Ahmedabad. Apart from the tombs of the queens of Ahmad Shah, the mausoleum also houses many tombs of the queens’ close relatives. This Mausoleum was in the year 1445 AD by the then Sultan; Sultan Ahmed Shah. After spending some time at the Rani no Hajiro, you’ll be dropped at Ahmadabad railway station where our representative bids you adieu as your journey ends here.
